Outdoor Games
We went to Howick Historical Village on tuesday the 27th of June. One of the activities that we did was outdoor games. I really enjoyed this activity. Mostly because all of the toys were made from wood which was really quite fascinating how so many people could've had so many toys just from a couple pieces of wood.

Matariki Maths
WALHT: identify and draw a rhombus
In this activity we had to use the stars of Matariki to draw a rhombus. A rhombus has 2 sets of parallel lines that are opposite to each other. It is a polygon and also a quadrilateral. When you mark the diagonals the crossovers mark a 90 degree angle.

Reflection
Over the past few months I have been working hard in all areas. For many reasons one is so that I can prove to myself that I can be an academic and also a sportsman. Another one is to prove to my parents that I am not dropping marks. I feel like I have been doing really well these past terms though.
If I knew that last year I would even be in the running to be selected for sports camp I wouldn’t have believed you. However, now that I am training I feel a lot better . I also feel like I actually have a really good chance of getting selected.
I have also improved in chess. Not only have I been learning more strategies. I have also been learning to control my game speed and my concentration methods. When I started to learn how to do concentrate I realized that I was winning a lot more competition wins and instead of just winning 1 or 2 games in a competition I went undefeated which I was really shocked about.
Doing all of this sport is all well and good, but the main reason that I come to school is to learn. My learning has improved a lot over the past 2 terms as I am now working ahead of where I am suppose to be in reading, writing and maths.
Over the past 6 months I have made a massive improvement. In all areas of school. Whether it is training for sports camp or maybe it was when I was training for chess. Perhaps it was even in the classroom. Overall I feel like I have really improved in all aspects of learning.

Volume
Today in maths we were learning about calculating volume . I found this activity really easy because I had already learnt about volume. I don't feel like I still need to practice as it is pretty easy to do.

Emotions: Highlanders vs Lions
WALHT: show not tell emotions
The frowns were all over the foreheads of the Lions. They were covering the faces, barely making eye contact. All you could hear was complaining. Their heads were down. Spirits were damaged. How would they carry on? Some had regret, some had remorse. They stuck around even though they didn't want to. All they really wanted to do was scurry back to the locker room.
Smiles was burnt upon their faces. Long laughs were let out after what they had done. It made them feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Fists were flying up in the air. They had everything to gain and nothing to lose at this point. They had claimed their rightful place upon the mountain top. Nothing could stop them.
Visualising
WALHT: visualise from a text.

The soft fur of the dog felt like silk against my skin and her black coloring glistened as it absorbed the sunlight, reflecting it back as a perfect, deep, dark mirror.

We were learning how to visualise from a text. We had to read a piece of text then draw a picture of it. I thought that I was successful because I followed the success criteria. The visualising was easy but when it came to drawing the actual picture that was tricky. I was also able to make inferences from the text which proved that last week's learning actually helped. Next I would like to learn if it is harder to do I it with longer texts or shorter.

Angles
We have been learning about angles in class. We learnt there are 7 different type of angles, obtuse, right, acute, straight, reflex and revolution angles. We had masking tape on our desk and used protacters to measure the angles of them.
Reading Test Results
I had my reading test the other day. I got a 5p which is really good. I think that I can still do better though. Next I want to get in the sixes. So I have to push myself.

Whistle-Personification Poem
He screamed with deep regret
There were furious and depressed boys
He felt as though he had just led the entire world down
As he walked away he could hear people blaming each other
They were furious!
He yelled at the top of his lungs to restart
But no one could hear him
Over all of the ragged
Stuff was getting thrown at him
The ball had been kicked at him
He had been balled over...
