Day 15 Activty 2

Living 100 years ago as a kid...

If I had to leave school at the age of 12 I think that I would feel a bit weird because you grow up going through the same routine of going to school every day then all of a sudden you change your routine from going to school to working everyday.

At 12 are you capable of working and providing for those who rely on you...I have enough trouble doing my chores!  I want to enjoy my childhood for as long as I can, so I am very happy to not have to leave school in September...

I would feel quite cross if I have to leave school...I dont know EVERYTHING yet!

Day 15 Activity 1

Wassily Kandinsky: Swimming

• I don't like this painting because the first thing I noticed was it was named Swimming...but I don't see anything that relates to swimming?!  All I see is a load of multi-coloured shapes squashed together...the closest thing that I see, that is even remotely related to swimming, is a blue strip that looks a bit like water if you had to find something.

• If I could buy this painting I would give it to my parents because they like abstract paintings (They have 2 paintings already by Mark Rothko) so I think that they would really like it.  It would actually compliment theirs and would lovely in their lounge area...or in the bathroom as it's called swimming?!

Day 14 Bonus Activity

To be, or not to be Prime Minister...?

No...I would not like to be the Prime Minister of a country because the responsibility that would be on my shoulders would be so vast it would actually be quite frightening.  

I also think that I just wouldn't look good sitting behind a desk doing paperwork all day and I know I'd get pretty bored and just make stupid decisions.

Finally...being Prime Minister is a 24 hour, 7 day a week, 365 day job; I like my down time so I'll pass that position up should I be offered!

Day 14 Activity 2

Interesting facts about 

First-Lady Senator Hillary Clinton;

• If Hillary Clinton had won the presidential election she would of been the first woman to be president of U.S.A 

• In 1997, Hillary Clinton won a Grammy award for The Best Spoken Album (Audiobook)..."It Takes a Village".

• Her husband, Bill Clinton, is a former President of U.S.A and will therefore always be addressed as Mr President regardless of whether hold office or not...they could (had she had won) been know in their own right Mr and Mrs President and First-Lady and First Gentleman.

Day 14 Activity 1

If I was the Prime Minister of New Zealand the 3 rules that I would make would be;

1. Prices of every item in New Zealand would be slashed by half for everyone who worked and paid taxes.
2. You would be legally entitled to have your birthday off it fell on a work/school day.
3. Every school would have a water slide for free use inclusive of water costs and provision of togs and towels.

Day 13 Bonus Activity

• "The Fab Four" were John, Paul, Ringo and George.

• In one year the Beatles went from a small city band based in Liverpool..into a global phenomenon. 

Double Bonus-Bonus Information 

1. The Beatles officially broke up at Disneyland USA.
2. Ringo Starr was the voice of Thomas the Tank Engine in children's UK series.

Day 13 Activty 2

To WOMAD I would invite...21 Pilots and Lecrae.

21 Pilots is an alternative hip-hop band that was formed in 2009 with a 3 original members; Nick Thomas (who played the bass and keyboard), Chris Salih (who played the drums) and Tyler Joseph (who played everything but was mostly lead vocals). 

Unfortunately both Nick Thomas and Chris Salih departed the band in 2011 but Tyler Joseph stayed and found Josh Dun who plays trumpet, drums and sings backing vocals. 

Lecrae is a Gospel Hip Hop/Rap Artist who has been in the music business since 2004. Lecrae has received several awards and nominations over the years including receiving two Grammy Awards for best gospel album which was his album called Gravity.
