Day 3 Activity 2

My airline is simply called "Harrison" and it is rated 5 stars (*****) by the only person who knows how to rate an airline...
the world famous Harrison M Collins; aka me!

It will only be for domestic North Island flights in New Zealand and if the flight duration is not under 40 mins in total (from take-off to landing), then there will be a 5% discount on the total cost.

I like this idea and the logo Harrison. Is it a budget airline or a nicer experience? If it is nicer, why?

Keep at it! Sorry for asking so many questions, but you're very intelligent and I want to see what that big brain can do!

You pay for what you believe the service was worth...and perhaps that might encourage others to pay it forward. Have you heard of that concept?

Hi again Harrison,

Paying for what you feel it is worth and paying it forward sound like two different concepts. I have heard of both, and as someone who has studied marketing before, the paying for what you feel doesn't feel like it would work so well; however the crowd funding model of production is very interesting and possibly one of the greater innovations in recent times.

An example of a company which works on people paying what they feel it is worth, is wikipedia, which is currently coming under fire for not needing the donations it is requesting. I wonder if you can find a company for me whose model of 'pay what you feel' works? There must be some out there. Maybe Twitch is a good example, if not with it's own flaws.

How about restaurants where you pay for what you think the meal was worth??

lentilasanything.com (Melbourne)
payasyouplease (Ireland)
SAME soallmayeat and Cafe 180 (Denver) although Cafe 189 lets the guest volunteer to help/earn their meal
jbjsoulkitchen.org (New Jersey) again a volunteer option or minimum donation request and its a Jon Bon Jovi community restaurant
deewan.at. (Vienna)
deculinairewerkplaats.nl. (Amsterdam)

If you paid what you believed the service/meal was worth then surely on AVERAGE it would balance out and if you left twice as much as you thought it was worth then you could then pay it forward for the next person?

Just like when my Mum pays for an extra coffee when she orders hers and tells the operator to give the extra one to the next person who orders so that theirs is free...in the hope it might encourage them to pay it forward to as a random act of kindness, or just bring a smile to their face at that moment.

Thanks for doing that extra research! It looks really good! I wonder why it doesn't catch on.

It is all a nice concept. I do like the ideas, don't get me wrong : ) I think random acts of kindness are nice things.

Keep up that critical thought. I see you truly want to make the world a happier place.
